Description

Given the relevance of mountains for the sustainable agenda, the initiative aims to support climate adaptation and mitigation strategies through innovative, climate-resilient entrepreneurship in the most fragile mountain regions of the world, generating job opportunities, reducing rural out-migration, and empowering women and youth, while assisting governments in devising tailored strategies for sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient agrifood systems transformation, but also serve to strengthen the bonds between the diverse levels of the Mountain Partnership's constituency, fostering collaboration among governments, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector. The mission is to continue advancing the mountain agenda, stepping up advocacy efforts in global policy fora and supporting MP Governments' national mountain dialogues, strengthening members' capacity to promote solutions and innovate, promoting mountain producers, engaging youth, fostering cooperation and attracting investments for a more resilient and sustainable future.Thematic initiatives will have a specific geographic focus on Kyrgyzstan and Uganda. read more close
