Description

This proposal aims to promote employment in rural areas through financial support and training for economic actors such as small and medium-sized enterprises, agricultural groups and cooperatives, which are involved in certain priority sectors in Mali (mango, horticulture, karité, sesame). The programme will intervene in the rural regions of southern Mali, Sikasso and Koulikoro regions in order to strengthen local conditions for development and improve the profitability of producers by giving priority to young people and women. The intervention strategy envisages the implementation of programme activities developed by Italian NGOs with consolidated experience in the field of technical and financial support to rural entrepreneurship, vocational training and financial inclusion of producers, rural groups and rural cooperatives in Mali and the promotion of employment for young people and women. This proposal envisages the development of specific interventions that will be formulated and presented in the future by Italian NGOs following a call launched by Aics Dakar and which will define more specifically their objectives, activities, results, macro-budget lines as well as implementation timelines. The focus is on taking action to fill the gap in a funding system that can guarantee the promotion of employment in rural areas. The aim is therefore to strengthen the resilience of rural communities in southern Mali by supporting their socio-economic development. This proposal is fully integrated with the project proposal AID 12844 by the ILO (International Labour Organization) entitled "An Ka Baara – Travail décent et augmentation des revenus dans les filières de la mangue et de l'horticulture modern” aimed at creating employment in the processing sector of products belonging to the mango and fruit and vegetable supply chain; and with AID 12834 "Increasing income opportunities in the mango and modern horticulture sectors through the technical management strengthening of producer cooperatives and micro family enterprises", developed by the Italian CSOs, which intervene in supporting the production and marketing of the agricultural feed and horticulture supply chains in the same region of intervention. The project will also be coordinated and articulated with the methods of intervention and the operational indications (activities, beneficiaries and themes) of the regional program under investigation that will be developed by IFAD and financed by AICS in Senegal and Mali and will focus on strategies and financing methods for the enhancement of immigrants' investments. read more close
