Description
This initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness and profitability of the value chain in the footwear sector of the city of Hebron through the development of a self-sufficient and sustainable industrial district. The results envisaged by the initiative, implemented by UNIDO, are conceived to achieve three specific objectives: to increase the competitiveness of companies in the footwear value chain, to decarbonize and make the production chain environmentally sustainable and lastly to favor the integration of the players in the value chain as well as other related value chains. Conceived as an integrated hub aimed at favoring the industrial symbiosis of local leather and shoe industries and promoting technological upgrade and export facilities, the Sustainable Shoe Village will offer infrastructure for the local footwear industries. Through its Common Facility Center, the Sustainable Shoe Village will contribute to update their production and skills and finally support the competitiveness and reach out to new local and international markets.
