Description

Voluntary contribution to FICROSS to coordinate humanitarian activities carried out by National Societies in favour of vulnerable groups and to coordinate the aid and the rescue in disaster relief in the natural events like earthquake, floods. This contribution will support FICROSS Global Plan 2025 aiming at building resilience in climate, health and migration; responding when needed in disasters and crises; and working with respect through values, power and inclusion. FICROSS carries out its activities in the field of climate and disaster response, also through a financial instrument established to provide immediate support to National Societies in the event of emergencies (“Disaster Response Emergency Fund”). Its second relevant operational area focuses on the promotion of community health through programs aimed at improving access to essential care and the provision of basic health services; awareness raising campaigns on public health issues, and preparation and response to epidemics, through the training of volunteers and the provision of medical equipment. A third programmatic area involves different aspects of migration and human mobility, such as the coordination of regional plans on migration, support to migrants and refugees on the Mediterranean route, in Latin America and the Caribbean and in sub-Saharan Africa, through structures that offer access to basic health care and livelihoods (so-called “Humanitarian Service Points”). The contribution will also support activities in the prevention and preparation of humanitarian response to natural disasters (so-called 'anticipatory action').
