Description
Voluntary contribution to the GAVI Alliance for saving children’s lives and protect people’s health by increasing access to immunization in poor countries. Voluntary contribution to the Gavi Alliance for saving children's lives and protect people's health by increasing access to immunization in poor countries. The contribution will allow to improve global health security by supporting health systems and financing global stocks of vaccines against Ebola, cholera, meningococcal disease and yellow fever. The contribution is consistent with SDG 3, 5 and 17. The contribution is consistent with the priorities of Italian Cooperation. Indeed, vaccination and immunization fall within the priority objectives in the health intervention sector, as indicated in the Three-Year Programming and Policy Document 2024-2026, approved by the Inter-ministerial Committee for Development Cooperation on December 9, 2024. The Document explicitly points out the relevance, in this regard, of multilateral initiatives, citing Gavi also as an example of an innovative financing tool.
