Description

The project aims to strengthen activities that contribute to the long-term resilience of vulnerable communities, as well as to defend the fundamental human rights of the more vulnerable categories of people and to defend against all forms of violence, including the sexual violence. All this through an increase in the resilience of the population, support for health facilities and physical rehabilitation centers, trying to redirect and make possible assistance even outside the refugee camps of Cox's Bazar. The initiative also aims to strengthen the dialogue with the competent authorities on the conditions of detainees and humanitarian issues affecting vulnerable people. Another area of commitment is family reunions, bringing together or reconnecting displaced persons with their relatives and helping the families of missing persons to ascertain the fate of their relatives. A cross-cutting theme is helping the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society to strengthen its capacity of addressing humanitarian needs and promoting effective coordination with other Partners of the Movement; working with other local organisations and institutions to make the humanitarian impact more sustainable. Also, helping the Red Crescent to broaden its engagement with the authorities, security forces and civil society and to promote support for its neutral, impartial, independent and humanitarian action; to strengthen dialogue with vulnerable communities about their needs and adapt its response accordingly; and help stakeholders strengthening their understanding of IHL and other applicable rules. read more close
