Description

Fondo COVID-19_AID_011887: With the first component, the project will aim at the diversification of livelihoods, by involving the communities which have already started to transition to agropastoralism. With the second component, the project will increase the sustainability of traditional livelihoods, in particular livestock, through the promotion of an integrated model of Natural Resource Management. The third component will remove the political and institutional obstacles that are hampering the rural development of target communities, by promoting the dialogue between beneficiaries and their associations, on one hand, and the representatives of Local Authorities at County and, on a lesser scale, national level. Thanks to the integrated action of the three components, the project will improve food and nutrition security for 10 agro-pastoralist communities, especially women and other vulnerable groups, of Isiolo County, through resilient livelihoods approach (Specific Objective) and will contribute to enhanced resilience to market and climate shocks in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands of Northern Kenya (Overall Objective). read more close
