Description
The initiative aims, within the framework of the Africa Multi-Hazard Early Warning and Early Action System (AMHEWAS), at strengthening continental, regional and national capacities in coordination, leadership, and the use of knowledge, information and data, with a view to developing sustainable and autonomous early warning and early action systems for reducing disaster impacts, safeguarding lives, protecting investments, and ensuring economic stability across Africa. The initiative mainstreams gender and social inclusion in a cross-cutting manner, ensuring that all phases – from planning to implementation and monitoring – prioritize the specific needs of women, girls, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable and at-risk groups.
