The initiative aims, within the framework of the Africa Multi-Hazard Early Warning and Early Action System (AMHEWAS), at strengthening continental, regional and national capacities in coordination, leadership, and the use of knowledge, information and data, with a view to developing sustainable and autonomous early warning and early action systems for reducing disaster impacts, safeguarding lives, protecting investments, and ensuring economic stability across Africa.
