Description

Overall this project aims to further reinforce the links between Mozambique and Italy, starting from the education, research, and innovation systems and progressively involving other areas of society (e.g. young entrepreneurs and IT industries), as needs and opportunities arise. More specifically, the project aims to: 1.Strengthen the technical and innovation-related capabilities in ICTs in Mozambique. By blending the main actors of innovation in Mozambique (University and industry) and the expertise of Politecnico di Milano, we intend to train and educate, through training and master-level courses, and improve the Innovation Space to give students and industry an environment to (co-)create innovative solutions. 2.Create an environment that fosters technical excellence and guide new, and talented resources to identify and study the new ICT-related opportunities. The higher-level goal is to ensure that UEM can play a significant role in helping shape the ICT landscape of the country and create excellence that is both able to understand needs and requirements from industry and provide innovative ideas solutions. 3.Adapt the curriculum of the master's degree in computer science at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane. 4.Improve capacity in key and relevant areas through offering training courses, mentoring, coaching, and PhD programs at Politecnico to talented students. These courses and initiatives will target cutting-edge and innovative problems and technologies (e.g. mobile development, cloud computing, data mining, and security). 5.Promote the exchange of ideas, technologies, and solutions between the two institutions/countries. 6.All these activities will also help younger resources (students) become innovators and (self-)entrepreneurs and shape the future of their lives and country. read more close
