Description
Oxfam and its partners will support MSMEs and startups to identify and overcome their main obstacles for growth, through financial and non-financial assistance. The aim will be to create new inclusive employment opportunities. In addition, market linkages between Italy and Lebanon will be created in the framework of this project, to promote growth and facilitate market expansion. On the supply side of the job market, there are difficulties for young people and women in accessing work and their participation is limited. Through this project, Oxfam and a strong community engaged partner will link 150 women and youth to the newly created job opportunities in the 125 supported MSMEs in the area, reducing their economic vulnerability. To help them succeed, individualized mentoring will be provided. Through awareness and advocacy actions Oxfam will promote decent work among the stakeholders involved in the project (2.200 people) and valorise inclusive business as driver for local economic development. The support to MSMEs will directly intervene to improve the working conditions of the existing employees and individuals will be made aware of their rights.
