Starting from the internationally recognized need to act directly with violent men to break the cycle of violence, the experience of the centers managed by GtG and LKBD will be replicated, also constituting at Elbasan and Valona Offices for the psycho social support of violent men, using the Italian experience of Relive for the training of psychologists and European WWPN for the establishment of a national network. Finally, with the involvement of ASPA, it will respond to the need of local authorities to equip themselves with tools for the promotion of equal opportunities, through a training offer updated with respect to the acquis communautaire on gender and a training course for trainers (ToT) on the topics of gender budgeting in local governments. The project aims to contribute to the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of women in Albania under the SDG 5 and, in particular, to end all forms of discrimination against women in the regions of Shkoder, Elbasan and Valona, through the support to local institutions for the implementation of applicable norms on gender equality and support to local associations in women's empowerment actions and against violence against women in public and private spheres. In summary, the expected results are: 1 Established a certified training offer to increase the capacity of local governments to apply gender budgeting techniques in public spending processes and to include a gender perspective in local development policies. 2 Strengthened the system of services of empowerment and economic and social reintegration provided under the norms on family violence, gender equality and free legal assistance. 3 Increased specialized services for violent men under the Istanbul Convention to eliminate forms of violence against women in the public and private spheres. On a general level, the impact of the initiative will be to contribute to a change in norms, behavior and values in the private and public sphere, for a society free from violence, with equal opportunities for participation in economic and social life, based on respect for human rights and women's rights and supported by public policies aimed at promoting gender equality.
During the first year of implementation of activities, online training courses were delivered to the Albanian School of Public Administration. As well, services to contrast violence against women were delivered in the three selected territories. read more close
