Voluntary contribution 2025 to ICRC-Italy Bilateral Emergency Fund to support humanitarian interventions related to unforseeable emergencies caused by both man-made and natural disasters and to any event in which there is a clear threat to the survival of human life. ICRC is engaged in the protection of women and girls from violence.ICRC is committed to protecting women and girls from violence. As an international body that is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the Federation carries out coordination and support functions for national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies worldwide, which are primarily engaged in emergency and first-response activities, especially in the event of natural disasters and calamities. The Federation has been at the forefront of responding to humanitarian crises caused by natural disasters and is also particularly active in the areas of climate change and in the prevention and preparedness of humanitarian response in the event of natural disasters (the so-called ‘anticipatory action’). In the course of 2025, the Fund has already been activated to respond to the crisis in Syria with a contribution of €1,000,000 and, following the earthquake in Myanmar, with a total allocation of €2,000,000.
