Description
Second contribution to the Bilateral Emergency Fund with IFRC for the year 2025 to support emergency appeals and response funds launched by IFRC in response to climate related hazards. IFRC protect women and girls from GBV.As an international body that is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the Federation oversees coordination and support functions for national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies worldwide, which are primarily engaged in emergency relief and first-response activities, especially in the event of natural disasters and calamities. The Federation has been at the forefront of responding to humanitarian crises caused by natural disasters and is also particularly active in the areas of climate change, as well as in the prevention and preparedness of humanitarian response in the event of natural disasters (the so-called ‘anticipatory action’). During 2025, the Fund has already been activated to respond to the crisis in Syria with a contribution of €1,000,000 and, following the earthquake in Myanmar, with a total allocation of €2,000,000. The Fund’s positive balance amounts to €2,000,000.
