Description

The initiative represents an extension of the AICS/RETE project AID 011861, which established the first mammography screening service in the Zenica-Doboj Canton of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It aims to support the Ministries and Health Institutes of the Cantons in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Srpska, strengthening the capacities of decentralized health systems to offer adequate mammography screening services. The project is focused on improving the skills of healthcare professionals in breast cancer prevention, ensuring that an increasing number of practitioners receive training and expertise in the effective management of breast cancer prevention and treatment. The aim is to develop an effective screening program with the tangible goal of significantly expanding geographical coverage. The initiative also includes having the experts trained during the previous project not only participate in training with other experts in oncology centers in the Federation and Republic of Srpska but also actively share the expertise they have acquired. This process will not merely involve a transfer of knowledge but will serve as an opportunity to foster collaboration among healthcare professionals across ethnic and political-administrative boundaries. The goal is to create a collaborative network that, through the sharing of experiences and skills, can contribute to improving cancer care throughout the country, ensuring benefits for all women in the areas of intervention. read more close
