ReAcTI PVH contributes to improving the socio-economic condition of people with disabilities, in particular young people and women, through full employment and decent working conditions in Brazzaville, Congo. (ref. OSS 8). This objective will be achieved by increasing vocational training and employment opportunities for women, young people and adults with disabilities in the Ouenze and Makelekele neighborhoods of Brazzaville through an inclusive approach based on the promotion of human rights (SDG 8 - 4). Work, and therefore economic independence, represents one of the main challenges for the inclusion of people with disabilities in their communities. In order to guarantee equal opportunities for people with disabilities in the local labor market, the proposal acts on several fronts: (i) on the one hand, it aims to make employment policies and employers' practices more inclusive through raising awareness among the community and public and private operators and through advocacy action aimed at institutions, thus creating a framework favorable to inclusion. In this sense, awareness-raising activities are planned with meetings, events, presence in the media, and the organization of spaces for dialogue and debate between the bodies representing people with disabilities and the authorities. (ii) On the other hand, the project insists on professional training with the transmission of technical and transversal skills necessary to find a decent job or to create your own business in traditional or innovative sectors. In this sense, training activities related to professions, entrepreneurial and digital training are planned. (iii) Finally, the project intends to support the employment of people with disabilities in both the more traditional and more innovative sectors. For this reason, the project plans to accompany those seeking employment through professional orientation, the network with private companies and the provision of endowment funds and expertise. The project is, in this way, in line with OSS 8 (Target 8.3; 8.5; 8.6) and with OSS 4 (Target 4.4; 4.5). The action is aimed at multiple target groups: - young people, women and adults with physical and/or motor disabilities, one of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups in Congo at a community, working and institutional level. - non-profit bodies, in particular associations of people with disabilities - private sector - institutions - families and communities The entire system of the proposal applies an inclusive and participatory approach aimed at strengthening the capabilities and protagonism of local associations. The proposal arises from the collaboration that has united CPS, the Proposing Party, and GIOHAC, the Congolese association of disabled people, since 2017. For around 18 months they have been jointly managing a project financed by the European Union which has allowed them to strengthen the impact of this collaboration and capitalize on sectoral experience. Furthermore, other partners were identified for their added value to the proposal. In particular, the partnership includes the University of Naples Federico II which, through the Department of Economics, Management and Institutions contributes to the training and job placement component. The National Agency for Research, Valorization and Innovation of Congo (ANRVI) also supports the field of innovation through training and business incubation.
