Description

The initiative supports institutional capacity development within the Guatemalan penitentiary system through an integrated approach that includes intelligence for the management of high-risk prisoners, prevention of extortion and prison riots, countering criminal infiltration, and the social reintegration of detainees. The intervention is aligned with key Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 16, which aims at promoting peaceful, just, and effective institutions; SDG 16.6 which aims at developing effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels; SDG 16.a which aims at strengthening relevant national institutions, including through international cooperation, for building capacity at all levels, in particular in developing countries, to prevent violence and combat terrorism and crime read more close
