Description

This proposal is part of, and aims to support, the ‘Water at the Heart of Climate Action’ (WHCA) initiative. It seeks to accelerate and scale up water-related actions to reduce the impact of water-related disasters and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities, while also contributing to the global ‘Early Warning for All (EW4All)’ initiative. The proposal aims, in particular, to support TFA 4: Anticipatory Action and Local Adaptation – strengthening local capacities to implement anticipatory actions following early warning systems and to put into practice adaptation strategies to address climate-related water risks. The proposal acknowledges the need to transform humanitarian action, shifting from emergency response to risk prevention and anticipation. The proposal aims to address a set of structural challenges that compromise climate resilience and water security in the target areas: Sudan, South Sudan and Ethiopia. read more close
