Description
The UNIDROIT’s “Zambia Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism for Sustainable Trade and Investment 2026” by UNIDROIT includes a 10-month training programme, conducted partly in person (in Zambia and Italy) and partly online, targeting public officials, judges, and legal experts on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms. The objective is to provide both theoretical and practical training, including relevant case law and principles of international commercial law, to support the prevention and resolution of disputes. UNIDROIT’s work through the initiative “Zambia Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism for Sustainable Trade and Investment 2026” has a cross-cutting impact on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and has a primary impact on Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), by strengthening the partner country’s capacity to ensure effective, transparent, and accessible judicial systems. The project also contributes transversally to SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by fostering international cooperation and networks between Italian and African stakeholders, and to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by promoting a stable and sustainable business environment that supports investment and economic development.
