Description
The specific objective of this project proposal is to provide integrated assistance by promoting the resilience of the most vulnerable populations. To achieve this, the proposal has three components: 1. The first one aims at increasing the food security of vulnerable populations (IDPs, refugees, host communities, minors and women) in the Tahoua region, with unconditional cash-based assistance particularly at the peak of the lean season. In addition to this crisis response component, food assistance will be provided to migrants in Assamaka (Agadez). 2. The second component seeks to reinforce the resilience of communities in Tahoua to implement sustainable long-term food security solutions, reducing dependence on humanitarian assistance in the long term. The initiative - in an environmental approach - includes actions aimed at improving the environment through development actions such as knowledge dissemination, training, capacity/institution building. Particular attention is paid to the components of inclusion and gender equality 3. The third component seeks to assure sustained access and the provision of assistance to populations for vulnerable populations trough aerial transport service provided by UNHAS *Components one and two may be implemented in alternate regions should operating environment be challenging.
