Description

Tunisie Professionnelle falls within the framework of cooperation between Tunisia and Italy, with the objective of enhancing the national vocational training system in Tunisia to effectively address the needs of young learners and employers, including Italian companies operating in the country. The initiative, implemented by UNIDO in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment (MEFP), aims to modernize and renew the national vocational training system in strategic sectors. It will facilitate alignment with labor market needs and harness the development potential of the productive sector, thereby strengthening the employability of young people and women in Tunisia. This initiative adopts a holistic approach to revitalize the vocational training sector, based on the strategic guidelines of the MEFP, with the aim of improving youth employability and contributing to economic and social development. The specific objectives of Tunisie Professionnelle are diverse. First, it aims to improve the quality and relevance of vocational training, equipping young Tunisians with the skills demanded by the labour market. In this regard, innovative teaching methods and tools will be introduced within beneficiary training centers. Secondly, the initiative seeks to expand access to vocational training, particularly for vulnerable populations, including youth and women, contributing to improved training facilities, youth services, and awareness efforts. The project will ensure a balance between the various types of interventions outlined. Finally, strategic partnerships with Tunisian and European organizations (including Italian ones) will enable exchanges of best practices, enhance the capacities of Tunisian vocational training stakeholders, and promote networking opportunities at continental and international levels.
