Description
The three-year project ‘NEXT UA’ aims to promote the creation of decent work opportunities and support for self-entrepreneurship (OSS 8) in Ukraine in the sectors involved in the digital transition in favour of vulnerable young people and women (18-35 years old) severely affected by the war in the oblast and the city of Kiev, contributing to the reconstruction and modernisation process of the country. The initiative, coordinated by ProSud, is supported by an international partnership composed of: KVPU, KRTUC, Brainy Education and U4UA for the UA part; CCIPU and ACISMOM for the ITA part. In order to successfully achieve the objective, the initiative envisages three concrete results: the offer of integrated empowerment and socio-occupational inclusion programmes will be strengthened so as to better align them with the effective socio-economic needs of the Kiev oblast; employment and self-employment opportunities will be created through VET training programmes, internships-WBL (OSS4) and Allegato 2_Modello Documento Unico di Progetto_DUP_Bando Promossi 2023 7 support for self-entrepreneurship through incubation and microcredit (OSS 9); lastly, coordination, synergies and partnerships will be enhanced between institutions, the ITA-UA System and local public-private services for training and employment and enterprise creation, in order to drive processes of innovation and sustainable growth of the Ukrainian local socio-economic context. To achieve these results, an initial phase of multi-stakeholder analysis and mapping of the main educational, professional and psycho-social needs of the local socio-economic context coordinated by KVPU (A.1.1) is envisaged. The equipping of coworking spaces/labs managed by U4UA, Brainy Education and KVPU will be aimed at upgrading the supply of empowerment, VET and incubation programmes (A.1.2). An integrated psychosocial empowerment programme implemented by a team ACISMOM-trained socio-health specialists (A.1.3) and socio-occupational inclusion will be organised by U4UA and KRTUC to respond to the psychological and physical war-related trauma suffered by young people and women by facilitating vocational reintegration and promoting social inclusion. Thereafter, a VET training programme ‘DIG4Skills’ targeting 150 vulnerable youth and women will be implemented through Brainy Education for the upskilling/reskilling of digital/soft skills aiming to mitigate the mismatch between demand and supply of digital/ICT skills needed by enterprises (A.2.1). The VET programme will enable 30 trained beneficiaries to participate in a WBL programme aimed at better matching with host enterprises selected by CCIPU and encouraging effective job placement at the end of the on-the-job experience (A.2.3). In parallel, a ‘DIG4Business’ incubation programme will be provided to 60 disadvantaged aspiring entrepreneurs through technical and financial support services/tutoring provided by Brainy Education (A.2.2). Part of them will have the opportunity to participate in EU/ITA-UA professional mobility schemes through the European platform Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) with the assistance of CCIPU (A.3.1). In order to foster the sustainability of the start-ups created, a microcredit/rotation fund will be established by ProSud (A.2.2) and ITA study visits to the UA will be organised - via CCIPU - to stimulate the creation of joint ventures and new synergies between the ITA and UA systems. The initiative finally aims at strengthening strategic public-private partnerships and pilot services launched through the creation of “Competences Hubs”(A.3.2) coordinated by KVPU and KRTUC for the promotion of training-job opportunities and the development of an open source digital platform as drivers of a sustainable
