Description

The long-term objective of the action is to improve the agri-food industry (quality and quantity) in Moldova and to diversify the agriculture markets, also strengthening the intensive crops production (such as vegetables and fruits) and not only the extensive ones (such as wheat, corn, sunflower and others). These improvements have to be done according to the rules and regulations of the EU Acquis Communautaire. In this sense, it is expected that the indications and provisions proposed by the project during its life, will be approved and applied by the Government of Moldova in order to promote the legal approximation to the EU Acquis. This objective merge the needs expressed by the Counterpart to be supported to achieve the rules of the EU acquis and to strengthen the efficiency of the agriculture sector through the aggregation of the small farmers in Cooperatives/ Associations. The adhesion of Moldova to the European Union will open for the Country additional agriculture markets, if it will be able to comply with the EU regulations. The project will work with and for the MoA to achieve this objective. The project will be implemented following 4 main pillars: (i) Strengthening the associationism mainly among small farmers; (ii) Improving the quantity and the quality of the agriculture and livestock production; through distribution of inputs, mechanization and irrigation systems; (iii) Ameliorating the food processing sector, strengthening the importance of food safety, quality and commercial standards; also supporting the farmers Cooperatives in marketing their products and connecting them with the Italian associative system; (iv) Concretely supporting the Moldavian administrations to propose rules and services in line with the EU acquis. read more close
