Description
The initiative aims to improve the resilience of vulnerable communities in Sindh to climate change through sustainable adaptation practices and better governance. Specifically, in perfect alignment with the vision of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP), the project aims to: 1) Establish and/or expand multi-hazard early warning systems (MHEWS), including water quality monitoring systems, and community resilience plans that include anticipatory action protocols to mitigate the impacts of extreme climate events. 2) Improve and protect the livelihoods of women and men in vulnerable communities in Sindh through positive adaptation strategies, such as the development of climate-resilient agricultural practices, crop insurance systems, and nature-based solutions. 3) Strengthen the capacities of actors at the national, provincial, and local levels to identify hazard triggers for better decision-making in the disaster risk management cycle.
