Description
The "INTER-LINKED" project stands out for its goal of improving healthcare services in Malawi, a country facing significant health challenges, including the high prevalence of HIV, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and women’s cancers. The initiative, funded with a total contribution of €4.8 million over 36 months, aims to strengthen the health system through an integrated approach by maximizing diagnostic services and enhancing the quality and coverage of healthcare services. It places particular emphasis on vulnerable groups, including adolescents, young women, pregnant women, and HIV+ patients. Key activities include clinical diagnostics, operational research, healthcare staff training, awareness campaigns, and the implementation of updated health protocols. The collaboration with local partners such as the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) and the Peace and Development Trust (PDT) ensures sustainable solutions to promote well-being and equitable access to healthcare in a context marked by severe disparities and limited resources, laying the groundwork for lasting change. The initiative is carried out by the University of Rome Tor Vergata in accordance with Article 24, paragraph 1 of Law 125/2014 (Art. 24/125).
