Description
The initiative aims to provide timely life-saving assistance to people affected by the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon, through the provision of protection services and improved access to adequate shelter for both Lebanese and refugee families. Activities include, on the one hand, assistance to people with specific needs (PWSN) inside and outside collective shelters, with a particular focus on high-risk cases, including through the provision of Case Management (CM), Protection Cash Assistance (PCAP) and Emergency Cash Assistance (ECA) services. The second component includes rapid response activities for the adaptation of collective shelters and informal settlements with a focus on improving access to water and sanitation services, including through the provision of tents, shelter kits and cash for shelter for displaced families. The financial contribution requested by UNHCR will allow the reaching of a population of beneficiaries of approximately 13,750 individuals. The initiative is aligned with the Lebanon Response Plan (LRP), co-managed by the GoL and the United Nations, and the related OCHA Flash Appeal launched in response to the humanitarian consequences of the escalation of the conflict.
