Description

The Italian Cooperation’s financial contribution will support the activities implemented by the United Nations Fund for Population (UNFPA) in Sierra Leone aiming at improving the preparedness and resilience of the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital in Freetown, the largest maternity facility in Sierra Leone. Specifically, UNFPA will use the financial contribution to: i) increase the capacity of the hospital management team to respond to obstetric emergencies, and reduce maternal deaths; ii) improve the availability of essential medical equipment, drugs and consumables available to provide quality obstetric and newborn care, including a functional laboratory and blood bank; iii) increase the availability of trained personnel for emergency care and the infection prevention and control (IPC), including residents in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. read more close
