Description

RESTART promotes sustainable economic development in Tunisia and supports social entrepreneurship by encouraging the socio-economic empowerment of young people, through the creation of at least 50 socioecological youth enterprises aiming at enhancing and upgrading, at territorial level, 5 Tunisian regions. The regions of Jendouba, Sidi Bouzid and Gabes recorded the highest rates of Tunisian youth unemployment, with peaks exceeding 40%, while Mahdia and Sousse are territories of internal migration, characterized by deep urban poverty and underemployment, in which the young people are commonly employed as low-cost labourers for delocalized companies. The main issues addressed by RESTART are: youth socio-economic marginalization, lack of training opportunities and decent work, widespread feeling of alienation among young people vis-à-vis their communities and territories. read more close
