Description

The initiative aims at strengthening the coastal communities resilience by increasing production and revenues for fishermen's communities.The intervention strategy of this initiative is based on a participative approach aiming at to involve fishermen's households to strengthen their production activities. The initiative will be articulated in the following: 1. Strengthen existing fishermen's organizations and support the creation of new cooperatives, for value-chain enhancement;2. Strengthen basic infrastructures (fish markets, quality-related laboratories, logistic facilities) to support production;3. Strengthen the access to credit facilities for fishermen's community members;4. Elaboration of coastal Master Plans in 5 target zones: Medenine, Gabes, nabeul, Sfax, Bizerte.The executing partner of the initiative is CIHEAM-Bari in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture (MARHP). read more close
