Description

The project aims at improving the Integrated Water Resources Management in El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua through high level education, applied research and implementation of best practices in pilot areas.

The project will develop a Master in Hydrology and a Master in Community Psychology in the three countries whose students will conduct applied research on water quality and quantity and on water related social conflicts in the three pilot sites in priority river basins in El Salvador, Rio Acelhuate and in Nicaragua, Rio Tipitapa. In these pilot sites, best practices in water management will be promoted and implemented: water safety plans, basic domestic sanitation and drinking water supply, water efficiency in productive activities such as agriculture and aquiculture, environmental education and resolution of conflicts in water management. read more close
