Description

To support national efforts to strengthen the sustainability and efficiency of food-based safety nets for vulnerable groups in 34 municipalities of the country, particularly trough the implementation of the National Plan for the Prevention and Control of Anaemia by: increasing the availability of data on nutritional disorders in vulnerable groups; preventing micronutrient-deficiencies (especially iron-deficiency) that lead to anaemia in vulnerable groups with a particular focus on children aged 6-23 months and pregnant and lactating women; strengthening capacities on nutritional education, promoting change in nutritional habits the prevention of anemia - particularly among schoolchildren and adolescents; supporting Government's efforts in strengthening the national Food Security and Nutrition Monitoring System (SISVAN). read more close
