Description

As a follow-up to the in-depth assessment conducted with the SINCE (Stemming Irregular Migration in Northern and Central Ethiopia) inception phase, this project has been developed for contributing to reduce irregular migration by creating greater economic and employment opportunities. In particular, this project aims at supporting the Government of Ethiopia in the creation of decent and productive job opportunities for young women and men through the development of strategic sectors such as the textile and garment industry in Addis Abeba and the Tigray Regional State. Eritrean migrants, located in the capital as well as in Tigray, will be involved in the project. The project will promote the development of local capacities (at managerial, technical and institutional levels) in the textile industry through a public-private-partnership approach.
