| vocab:Description | Il progetto emPoWeReD si prefigge come scopo il miglioramento del livello di formazione professionale della categoria delle Lavoratrici Domestiche in Tanzania, per incrementare la loro capacità di rivendicare i propri diritti e uscire dall’informalità lavorativa. Nel perseguire questo scopo il progetto adotta una strategia multisettoriale che mira a: a. ottenere la registrazione di un curriculum formativo ufficiale sul lavoro domestico presso l’Autorità Tanzana per la Formazione Professionale. Tale curriculum è già stato testato da CVM in passato dimostrando efficacia nell'aumentare l'autoconsapevolezza delle partecipanti e migliorandone la situazione lavorativa. La registrazione del curriculum è accompagnata da un’attività di formazione degli insegnanti dei centri pubblici di formazione professionale nelle regioni target per garantirne l’applicabilità. b. favorire la sindacalizzazione delle Lavoratrici Domestiche tramite la formazione di gruppi di mutuo aiuto collegati al sindacato nazionale CHODAWU nelle regioni del progetto. Questi gruppi sono destinatari di specifici percorsi formativi sui propri diritti di lavoratrici e di donne. Viene inoltre messo a disposizione un fondo rotativo di “credito alla formazione” che permette alle LD in condizioni di difficoltà economica di poter accedere ai corsi di formazione professionali. c. aumentare la visibilità sociale di questa categoria tramite eventi di carattere comunicativo, scientifico e politico che pongano all’ordine del giorno i diritti delle Lavoratrici Domestiche. La durata complessiva del progetto è di 36 mesi e coinvolgerà un totale di oltre 150.000 beneficiari.emPoWeReD è implementato da Comunità Volontari per il Mondo – CVM, in partenariato con il sindacato tanzano CHODAWU, la Vocational and Education Training Authority (VETA), il Dipartimento di Gender Studies dell’Università di Dar Es Salaam e l’Università Cattolica. |
| vocab:Description_en | The objective of emPoWeReD is to increase the level of professional qualifications of Domestic Workers (DWs) in Tanzania, to enhance their capacity to advocate for their rights and to move out of informal work. In doing so, the project adopts a multi-sector strategies aiming at: a) obtaining the registration of an official training curriculum on domestic work from the Vocational and Education Training Authority of Tanzania. This curriculum has been tested by CVM in the past and has shown efficacy in improving the self-awareness of the trainees and improving their working conditions. The registration of the curriculum is paralleled by the training of teachers in public vocational training centers in the target regions to ensure its uptake. b) encourage the participation of Domestic Workers in Trade Unionsthrough the establishment of self-help groups linked with the national trade union CHODAWU in the target regions. These groups will receive specific training courses on their rights as workers and women. Furthermore, a rotative credit fund for training will be made available to allow DWs facing difficult economic conditions to access professional training courses. c) Increase the social visibility of DWs by means of communication events - also at political and academic level - that can push forward the agenda of the recognition of DWs’ rights. The duration of the project is 36 months and it will involve a total of over 150.000 beneficiaries. emPoWeReD is implemented by Comunità Volontari per il Mondo - CVM, in partnership with Tanzanian Trade Union CHODAWU, the Vocational and Education Training Authority (VETA), the Department of Gender Studies of the University of Dar Es Salaam and Cattolica University. |
