The Fund focuses primarily on responding to urgent humanitarian needs through filling funding gaps and responding rapidly to new or unforeseen emergency needs, with exceptional funding for coordination, early action, preparedness and resilience activities.To respond to the worsening humanitarian needs and protection risks, within an international crisis response framework, UNOCHA's Inter Cluster Coordination Team (ICCT) has developed the 3rd Reserve Allocation (3RA) 2021, to which this financing proposal refers. This is a multisector plan detailing a four-month strategic response (September-December 2021) to the current Afghan crisis. Through the 3RA, the AHF provides funds, immediately needed, for life-saving and strictly priority humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan. The intervention will focus on Emergency Shelter and Non-Food Items (ESNFI), Food Security and Agriculture (FSAC), with cash support, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Protection, Health, Education, Coordination and Common Services providing humanitarian assistance to 985,223 people, with focus on women, children, disabled, the old ones and vulnerable people. |
