| vocab:Description_en | The Joint Programme “Consolidating gains and deepening devolution in Kenya” will be implemented by UNDP, UNICEF and UN Women, focusing on the 17 poorest counties of Kenya. The Italian Cooperation will contribute to the basket fund supporting the Programme with an instalment of 400.000 Euro. The Programme’s goals are embedded in the UNDAF which was signed with the Government of Kenya in June 2018. In particular it will contribute to the achievement of the Outcomes related to improved service delivery, social protection and resilience to climate change, with a particular focus on gender equality and vulnerable children. The approach is based on strengthening the capacity of local governments to better manage and mobilize resources (through PFM) and thus improve service delivery. Furthermore, technical assistance from Italian experts will be provided, in order to deepen bilateral cooperation on the issues of DRM and fiscal decentralization. |
