| vocab:Description | Il progetto si colloca nell'ospedale pediatrico di EMERGENCY a Port Sudan che dal 2011 ha avviato le sue attività in regime ambulatoriale e aperto le ammissioni in reparto nel gennaio 2012. L’iniziativa mira a: aumentare l’accesso a servizi sanitari gratuiti e di qualità per i bambini al di sotto dei 14 anni che vivono nell’area di Port Sudan e la consapevolezza diffusa nella popolazione dell’importanza della prevenzione per la salute; garantire servizi sanitari di primo soccorso, ambulatoriali e in reparto, 24h/24, nella struttura del Centro Pediatrico di Port Sudan, per tutti i bambini al di sotto dei 14 anni, contribuendo così attivamente al miglioramento dei servizi sanitari disponibili nell'area di Port Sudan e quindi alla diminuzione della mortalità infantile; coinvolgere direttamente la popolazione attraverso sessioni di educazione sanitaria in clinica ed outreach, per diffondere la consapevolezza dell’importanza della prevenzione nella salute, con particolare attenzione alla malattia reumatica nei pazienti pediatrici. Beneficiari: bambini di etnia Beja, che si basa sull’ agricoltura di sussistenza e commercio di bestiame ed e’ stata duramente colpita dai cicli di siccità e carestia, personale locale ed educatori sanitari presso il centro pediatrico.
