Description

The aim of the initiative is to improve the accommodation capacity and quality of services of the hospital in Bogodogo, in the capital Ouagadougou, built 20 years ago with the contribution of the Italian cooperation. The Bogodogo hospital is today one of the few public facilities equipped with primary reference services (surgical emergencies, complications of paediatric pathologies, pregnancy and childbirth) for the three million inhabitants of the capital, in a context dominated by private healthcare, inaccessible to the majority of the population. These primary reference services now need to be strengthened to adapt both to the increase in users and to the latest technical standards. For the implementation of the intervention, a component A of € 3.7 million will be awarded to UNOP. Component A, which is the subject of this proposal, includes: 1. the renovation and extension of existing buildings (operating theatre, obstetric emergency block, maternity and blood bank); 2. the purchase, installation and training in the use and maintenance of equipment (furniture, biomedical equipment) for administration, blood bank, gynecology/obstetrics, operating theatre, paediatrics and pharmacy. read more close
