In a context characterized by severe socio-economic fragility, worsened by the widespread food insecurity and the lack of effective training/professionalization processes in an economy that has been structurally changed, the project aims at strengthening the resilience of rural Burkinabe communities whose survival is based on subsistence economies that continuously undergo an environmental shock. The project aims also at contributing to the establishment of a technical-entrepreneurial culture in the economic emerging sectors, which is an essential condition from a strategic point of view of a suitable sustainable development.the project aims at:- Guaranteeing sustainable food production systems and implementing resilient agricultural practices that increase productivity and strengthen the adaption skills to climate change in 8 villages of the Central and Central-West Regions of Burkina Faso, through the use of photovoltaic technologies, agroecology techniques and the reduction of water resources dispersion (installation and set-up of solar irrigation systems on 8 hectares, technical support to local farmers for the management and maintenance and sustain for the appropriation process by the beneficiary groups even through the promotion of IncomeGenerating Activities).- Considerably increasing the entry into the labour market of young people and adults who have got technical and entrepreneurial skills in the renewables strategic field through processes of technical training qualification (equipment of laboratories for solar energy in 10 Secondary Schools selected by the Ministry of Education and at the University of Ouagadougou; training of professors and students both at theoretical and practical level) and by encouraging the activation of synergies between training and job (accompanying 180 students in qualifying internships within local companies and promotion of local companies through the launch of a "Centre for Employment" set up at the University, which us the technical site of the project).- Increasing inclusive urbanization forms, sustainable planning and participatory management in 2 medium-sized cities (Assisi and Koudougou), implementing parallel paths on 2030 Agenda and carrying out two sustainable interventions (innovative installations) with a strong educational and communicative impact on the civil society. read more close
