Description

TUUM-BAOOBO project aims to foster full and productive employment, decent work (OSS 8.5), and an inclusive and sustainable economic growth (OSS 8.2) in Burkina Faso (OG), through the enhancement of vocational training (OSS 4.3), the support for employment (OSS 8.6) and the micro-enterprise development (OSS 8.3) in the sustainable livestock supply chain in two regions - Central and Central Plateau - with high potential for labour demand absorption (SO). In order to achieve this objective for the benefit of about 360 young NEETs, the project will improve the quality of vocational training to make it more inclusive and responsive to the real needs of the labour market (R1- Sector 16020) with concrete actions at different levels for the inclusion of young people, women and groups at risk of marginality, such as: participatory development and good governance of the sector through the setting up (A.1.1) of a platform for coordination and public-private dialogue on vocational training and employment (Objective OECD/DAC: Participatory Development/Good Governance Policy); Competences and skills strenghtening of its members (A.1.2) including the mentoring of at least 10 gender & diversity focal points identified among the most influential ones, which will be functional to the definition, experimentation and integration in the Local Development Plans and Training Plans of at least 3 pilot measures (A1.3) for the implementation of the guidelines in the field of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities (Policy Objective OECD/DAC Gender Equality). TUUM-BAOBO will also strengthen some professional and on-the-job technical training paths for the sustainable livestock sector (R2 - Sector 11330) by improving the quality of the training plans and of the structures that deliver them (A.2.1), promoting a greater and more inclusive participation (A.2.2) incentivised by getting business plans and work scholarships (A.2.3) and, finally, it will support the employment of young people, women and persons with disabilities (R3 - Sector 31120), both as wage earners (A.3.2) and as entrepreneurs (A.3.1) in the sustainable livestock sector, starting from the effective job matching facilitated by ANPE. The project's intervention strategy supports the sustainable livestock supply chain (poultry, pigs and rabbits) both from a gap-filling perspective in relation to other priority and better supported supply chains in the country and in order to increase the climate resilience of communities engaged in this sector, contributing to the OECD/DAC Policy Objective Aid to environment and Rio Markers Desertification, Climate change - mitigation and adaptation. The composition of the consortium is an added value thanks to the sharing of the complementary know-how of the partners: the two Italian NGOs, Tamat, lead partner, and WeWorld, with long experience of work in Burkina Faso on sustainable local development, agroecology, training and employment, women's empowerment and social inclusion themes, supported by a broad Burkinabé public-private partnership with expertise and strategic influence in the various sectors of intervention: Agence Nationale pour l'Emploi (ANPE); Ecole Nationale de l'Elevage et de la Santé Animale (ENESA); Centre d'Evaluation et de Formation Professionnelle Ouagadougou (CEFPO), Centre De Formation Professionnelle de Référence CFPR-Z); Association des Faîtières des Filières Animales du Burkina Faso (AFA BF), Association Manegdbzanga (AM), Association Action pour un Monde Meilleur (AMM), Solidarité Mondiale pour le Développement (SMD). It is estimated that more than 360 young people, in particular women and youth at risk of marginalisation, will benefit from the project's activities through greater inclusion in the work world in the Grand Ouaga area and in Ziniaré Municiapality read more close
