| vocab:Description | La proposta nasce nel solco della collaborazione tra Terre des Hommes, UNIMI (Dip. Labanof) e Fondazione Isacchi Samaja per dare voce alle 800 vittime del naufragio del 18 aprile 2015, che oggi le vede impegnate, insieme al partner Fond. Collegio delle Università Milanesi, nella promozione di un progetto innovativo, di risposta al bando ECG di AICS: il MUSA. MUSA è il primo Museo Universitario delle Scienze Antropologico Forensi per i Diritti Umani in Europa che, nato a Milano nel 2021, aprirà le sue porte a giugno 2022, per diffondere una cultura sul ruolo che la scienza riveste nella tutela dei Diritti Umani e nella promozione dei valori della CG. MUSA, infatti, insegnerà al grande pubblico come, attraverso la lettura scientifica dei resti umani e dei segni del corpo, è possibile capire le evoluzioni di fenomeni quali: razzismo, discriminazione, violenza, violazione dei DDUU, e spiegare chi erano i vulnerabili (soprattutto donne e bambini) in che condizioni vivevano e perché è cruciale comprendere le ragioni di certe dinamiche sociali e culturali che, come nel passato, anche oggi possono minacciare i valori fondanti della CG. Il progetto, grazie all’innovazione che MUSA rappresenta nella scena culturale italiana, punta a incidere sulla sfera cognitiva ed emotiva degli studenti delle scuole secondarie di I e II grado in particolare (ma anche di giovani adulti e comunità educante tutta), portandoli ad acquisire una visione ampia e critica delle dinamiche socioculturali che nelle epoche hanno esposto l’essere umano alla violazione dei suoi diritti. MUSA insegnerà come sia scientificamente provato che le comunità più forti evolutivamente sono quelle più aperte, multiculturali, inclusive e capaci di rispettare le diversità e tutelare i diritti delle persone che vi appartengono. Le aree del MUSA - storico-archeologica, criminalistica e umanitaria - daranno voce ai vulnerabili, ricostruendo la verità sulla loro esistenza attraverso le tracce sui loro corpi, e riconoscendo loro quella dignità di cui sono stati privati. La sezione umanitaria offrirà una ricostruzione del barcone di migranti affondato nel 2015, esponendo gli effetti personali delle vittime, il racconto dell’attività umanitaria di recupero e molto altro, per far comprendere le ragioni della fuga per la ricerca di una protezione. Il progetto svilupperà e realizzerà percorsi didattici sull’ECG, vista attraverso la lente della scienza, per le scuole secondarie di I e II grado e doterà MUSA di uno staff qualificato per lavorare con gli studenti, sia in classe che negli spazi museali. Ad oggi MUSA, infatti, non dispone né di equipaggiamenti né di strumenti utili a prevedere attività multimediali ed immersive con i ragazzi né laboratori esperienziali. La proposta, inoltre, si rivolge ai giovani adulti studenti universitari e alla comunità educante tutta, con una dirompente campagna di comunicazione e awareness sul territorio cittadino, regionale e nazionale. Il progetto è all’avanguardia del pensiero in materia di ECG, per cui “...la società ha bisogno di un sistema di istruzione superiore ampio e in grado di utilizzare molteplici strumenti educativi per poter accompagnare l’evoluzione della comunità, in modo funzionale ai suoi bisogni.” “Le Università sono parte di un contesto sociale, culturale, economico e politico che ne influenza il funzionamento, promuovendone o limitandone l’azione; ed è per questa ragione che la democrazia ha bisogno della scienza quanto la scienza ha bisogno della democrazia”. MUSA è dunque la perfetta sintesi tra l’attività di divulgazione scientifica della Terza missione di UNIMI, quella umanitaria di protezione dell’infanzia e promozione dei Diritti Umani propria di TDH e quella di contrasto alle povertà di Fondazione. |

MUSA is the first University Museum of Anthropological Forensic Science for Human Rights in Europe. It was established in Milan in 2021 and will officially open to the public in June 2022, with the aim of raising awareness on the role played by science in the protection of Human Rights and in the promotion of GCE values. MUSA will teach the general public through scientific analysis of human remains and marks on bodies how to understand the development of phenomena such as racism, discrimination, violence, HHRR violations; how to identify vulnerable groups (primarily women and children) and their living conditions; how and why it is crucial to comprehend the reasons behind specific social and cultural dynamics, which, today as in the past, could threaten the core values of GC. By valuing the innovative drive that MUSA brings to the Italian cultural scene, the project will impact the cognitive and emotional domains of learners attending lower and upper secondary school in particular – although it will also focus on young adults and the educational community at large – supporting their acquisition of a wide and critical view of the socio-cultural dynamics which, throughout history, exposed human beings to violations of their rights. MUSA will teach that it is scientifically proven that the strongest communities are those which are more open, multicultural, inclusive, and capable of respecting diverse people and protecting the rights of the people who belong to them. MUSA is made of three main sections – historical-archaeological, criminalistics and humanitarian – which will all concur to give voice to the vulnerable ones, piecing together the truth towards their lives though the marks on their bodies, and therefore acknowledging the dignity they were deprived of. The humanitarian section will include the reconstruction of the 2015 sunken boat as well as personal belongings of the victims, the narration of the recovery work and much more, to make the reasons of the travel in search of protection clear and understood. The project will develop and implement pedagogical pathways on GCE, using science, addressed to lower and upper secondary schools, while at the same time providing MUSA with qualified staff able to work with students, both within the classroom and at the Museum. Indeed, as of today, MUSA lacks effective equipment and tools to provide immersive and multimedia activities and interactive laboratories to students. Furthermore, the project will also involve young adults (university students) and the educational community at large through a massive communication and awareness campaign at municipality, regional and national level. The Action reflects the vanguard of new thinking about GCE, for which “…society needs a wide secondary education system, able to use multiple educational tools to accompany a community’s evolution which could be functional to its needs”. “Universities are part of a social, cultural, economic and political context which influences their functioning, either promoting or limiting their action; for this reason, democracy needs science as much as science needs democracy”.
