| vocab:Description | L’Iniziativa “Formazione professionale per l’empowerment dei/lle giovani in condizioni di vulnerabilità di Addis Abeba” intende contribuire ad aumentare l’occupazione giovanile ad Addis Abeba, e in particolare di giovani in situazione di vulnerabilità sociale, attraverso l’assistenza e la formazione di questi ultimi, ma anche il rafforzamento di competenze degli enti di formazione professionale e la sensibilizzazione di tutte le organizzazioni direttamente e indirettamente coinvolte nel settore. L'Iniziativa intende infatti agire su più fronti per migliorare le condizioni di vita di ragazzi tra i 15 e i 29 anni in situazione di disoccupazione e di vulnerabilità sociale che vivono per strada, senza una dimora fissa o in condizioni di estremo disagio. Al fine di fornire una risposta immediata all’emergenza degli “Street Children”, l’Iniziativa prevede la costruzione di una struttura di accoglienza (Youth Centre - YC) che permetterà l’inserimento dei ragazzi sulla base delle segnalazioni ricevute dalle autorità competenti (Ministero del Lavoro e degli Affari Sociali e Ministero delle Donne, dei Bambini e dei Giovani di Addis Ababa). I giovani ospitati nello YC riceveranno vitto e alloggio, assistenza medico-sanitaria, psicologica/psichiatrica e verranno accompagnati nella costruzione di un percorso di formazione professionale in collaborazione con i centri governativi per la formazione professionale (TVET) di Addis Abeba e, in un secondo momento,di inserimento lavorativo. Per garantire una completa responsabilizzazione dei ragazzi che hanno completato il loro percorso nello YC e permettere una maggior sostenibilità dell’Iniziativa, si prevede la formazione di gruppi di mutuo aiuto gestiti da peer educators (ragazzi che hanno concluso il proprio percorso all’interno delle YC e che hanno ricevuto un’apposita formazione) per facilitare l’inserimento di nuovi ragazzi e supportarli nel loro percorso. Inoltre, l’Iniziativa si iscrive nel contesto locale mediante la stretta collaborazione con l’Agenzia dei centri Technical and Vocational Education Trainings - centri TVET, che provvederà a segnalare tre centri TVET cittadini che necessitano di un rafforzamento delle capacità in termini di risorse umane e materiali, al fine di migliorare la qualità dei servizi formativi proposti e aumentare la capacità di accoglienza di questi centri. Si alterneranno quindi momenti di capacity building a destinazione dei formatori dei centri TVET e momenti di sensibilizzazione per il miglioramento dell’approccio che questi attori educativi implementano nei confronti di giovani che provengono da situazioni di vulnerabilità e disagio socioeconomico, spesso ritenuti inadeguati e controproducenti. Infine, l’Iniziativa prevede lo svolgimento di una serie di attività di awareness raising e advocacy per sensibilizzare stakeholders strategici e la popolazione in generale sul fenomeno degli Street Children e contrastare la stigmatizzazione che li colpisce. Da una parte, sono previste attività di networking tra attori coinvolti nella gestione del fenomeno per promuovere un approccio cooperativo al tema, e dall’altra sono previste attività di confronto e di formazione per il miglioramento concreto e immediato dei servizi e degli uffici istituzionali che si interfacciano direttamente con i ragazzi che vivono per strada. Verrà infine realizzata una campagna di sensibilizzazione da co-progettare e realizzare con gli ospiti dello Youth Centre, che verrà diffusa su diversi canali in modo capillare al fine di informare istituzioni, organizzazioni e individui sul fenomeno dei giovani di strada da una parte, ma anche di contribuire a lottare contro la loro stigmatizzazione e denunciare le discriminazioni e le violenze da essi subite. |
| vocab:Description_en | The Initiative Vocational training for the empowerment of vulnerable youth in Addis Ababa intends to contribute to increasing the employment of young people in Addis Ababa, and in particular of young people in a situation of social vulnerability, through assistance and training, but also through capacity building of vocational training institutions and awareness raising of all organisations directly and indirectly involved in the sector. The Initiative intends to act on several fronts to improve the living conditions of young people between 15 and 29 years of age who are unemployed and socially vulnerable, living on the streets, homeless or in extreme hardship. In order to provide an immediate response to the emergency of the Street Children, the Initiative provides for the construction of a reception structure (Youth Centre - YC) that will allow the inclusion of young people on the basis of reports received by the competent authorities (Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and Ministry of Women, Children and Youth of Addis Ababa). The young people housed in the YC will receive food and accommodation, medical, psychological/psychiatric assistance and will be accompanied in the construction of a vocational training path in collaboration with the governmental centres for vocational training (TVET) in Addis Ababa and, later, they will be supported in their job search. In order to guarantee a complete empowerment of the young people who have completed their training and to allow greater sustainability of the Initiative, it is planned to form mutual aid groups managed by peer educators (young people who have received special training) to facilitate the integration of new young people and support them in their journey. Furthermore, the Initiative is embedded in the local context through close cooperation with the Agency for Technical and Vocational Education Trainings - TVET centres, which will identify three city TVET centres in need of capacity building in terms of human and material resources, in order to improve the quality of the training services offered and increase the reception capacity of these centres. The project provides capacity-building sessions for the trainers of the TVET centres and awareness-raising sessions to improve the approach that these educational actors implement towards young people from vulnerable and socio-economic backgrounds, which are often considered inadequate and counterproductive. Finally, the Initiative foresees the carrying out of a series of awareness raising and advocacy activities to sensitise strategic stakeholders and the general public on the Street Children phenomenon and to counteract the stigmatisation that affects them. On the one hand, networking activities will be carried out among the actors involved in the management of the phenomenon in order to promote a cooperative approach on the issue, and on the other hand, there will be discussion and training activities for the concrete and immediate improvement of the services and institutional offices that interact directly with the children living on the streets. Finally, an awareness-raising campaign to be co-designed and implemented with the Youth Centre guests will be carried out, which will be disseminated through various channels in a capillary way in order to inform institutions, organisations and individuals about the phenomenon of street youth on the one hand, but also to help fight against their stigmatisation and to denounce the discrimination and violence they suffer. |
